Harvard China Review - We Bring China to the Forefront of the World
CABA, WHTS and MIT ETF will co-host an event by the delegation from Chinese Academy of Sciences who will be recruiting talents for Tianjin Industrial Biotechnology R&D Center. The event will be 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at MIT, Room 24-121.
Tianjin Industrial Biotechnology R&D Center (TIBC), a joint venture of CAS and the Municipal Government of Tianjin, is a non-profit research organization located in the Binhai New Area, Tianjin, China. TIBC is established on the basis of Institute of Microbiology, CAS (IMCAS) and coordinated by IMCAS. The new center will set up a platform for high-throughput screening and pilot fermentation studies. By making use of micro-organisms and other bio-resources, it will carry out research and development in the fields of biocatalysis, bio-energy, biomaterials, bio-based chemicals, biomedicine and bio-medical materials and tissues, and stem cells. It plans to construct a 20-hectare campus, where a number of R&D facilities, including a 45,000-square-meter research building, will be erected.
During this session the delegates will provide a brief introduction of this new center. The main purpose of delegation is to attract talents as well as to seek collaborations. You are welcome to attend the event if you are interested in learning more about TIBC.
